On Saturday, March 25, 2017 representatives from Beyond Tough Guise, the Winona Youth Soccer Association, and the Winona Y will be attending a training put on by the “Men As Peacemakers” organization. “Men As Peacemakers”, based out of Duluth, MN, will be providing direct training for local coaches in the “Coaching for Change” program. The “Coaching for Change” program is an interactive training that provides coaches on the ground examples of how to recognize and address issues of sexual harassment, sexual abuse, teen dating violence, and domestic violence. The training focuses on the primary prevention of these behaviors by introducing skills and strategies which create a team culture of gender equity and respect.
This training will be held on the Winona State University Campus, Haake Hall 175, Conference Room A. The training will run from 8:30 am until Noon.
“Men as Peacemakers” is an organization that is at the forefront of a movement to promote equality and end violence against women and children. “Men as Peacemakers” engages individuals and communities in Minnesota and beyond, by mobilizing existing community resources and developing innovating primary prevention and restorative justice strategies that are proven to significantly reduce and repair the harm caused by men.
